We are all programmed to be healthy, from birth to death. Of course, life can get in the way and set us off course from robust, vital health. But our genes are designed to keep us running strong for 100 years or more. We can’t feel, hear, or see most of our inner genius at work. There are several layers of health and healing. Picture a skyscraper with a strong foundation, or an iceberg in the Arctic ocean.

At the base layer, we start with something small. We normalize nervous system function through a chiropractic adjustment. Or we remember to take our omega-3 supplements to support every cell in the body. Or we take 30 seconds to breathe deeply. Any of these brief activities give our bodies a break from the constant “busy-ness” that we put ourselves through in modern daily life. Layer one is a series of small choices that take a few minutes out of our day, but these healthy habits become our strong foundation. Brick by brick, we create that first layer.

The second layer is something bigger – healing starts to occur! When you give your body a break from stress overload and feed it properly, it can resume its job of healing and maintenance. Damaged cells can be identified and repaired. Bones can be reinforced. Blood can be filtered and cleaned. Food can be converted into energy. With the second layer in place, our genes can properly do their job of healing us.

Layer three is where we start to see and feel the benefits. When healing is fully expressed and supported, we function better. It is as simple as that! When people start improving their nervous system function, eating better, moving better, and thinking better, they reap huge benefits. Increased energy, improved mobility, deeper sleeping, increased mental clarity, and an overall feeling of wellbeing are the most common benefits.

The top layer is what we all want for ourselves and our families – a better life. When we invest in ourselves and improve our wellbeing, we have more capability to live our lives to the fullest. Can our children benefit if we have more energy and mobility to interact with them? Of course! Will our relationships and job performance improve if we wake feeling fully rested and have a more positive mental state? Absolutely!

If you need help placing your bricks in that bottom layer, or even knowing where to start rebuilding your health, give us a call at 651-757-5096 for a free consultation. We can help you counteract the aging effects of stress and create wellness in your life!
